Here are some of our questions that have been asked, we will keep it simple.
⚪ How do you pick your hotels?
Generally it is location, being close to the center of town? Near the areas where there is a lot to see. Public transport nearby? Subway, Trains, Buses?
Some must have for us are price, windows, AC and Wi-Fi. Also we try for a elevator but that doesn't always happen.
Hotels are our go to, we like a private room and not sharing a bathroom, but some city's the cost of a hotel is just too much for us, and we will do hostel's.
⚪ Which bank are you with?
Up Bank is who we use 99% of the time for day to day stuff, they are fee free for transactions and everything is app based. you know when you are overseas and your bank is like we sent you a text code? Up just does it by the app.
We also have a Qantas credit card. but we only really use that for booking big stuff and hotels, day to day the fees aren't great but big transactions make sense and gather Qantas points for flights.
⚪ How do you pick which country to go to?
Our starting country is always a cheap flight out of Australia, from there we just choose where we would like to go. But a lot depends on current weather, ease of getting in and out, what are our interest in the country.
And we always use Smart Traveler to make sure that it is safe for us to go there .
⚪ How far in advance do you book?
it depends, normally only 1 - 2 weeks in advance, unless we know there is a national holiday or event happening.
if we have a place to be we can plan further ahead, we we like being flexible.
